Suriya's Journey: From Loan Repayment to Star of Kanguva

Tamil star Suriya shared that he didn’t enter movies to be a hero; he did it to help pay back his mother’s bank loan.
After finishing school, he worked at a garment company, starting with ₹750 for 15 days. After three years, his salary rose to ₹3,000 a month.
He had dreams of starting his own company and never planned to act in films.
The turning point came when his mother secretly took a loan of ₹25,000.
When he was offered a role in a Mani Ratnam film, he accepted it to help pay off the loan.
He cleared his mother’s debt and began his acting career, telling her, “Your loan is cleared. Don’t worry anymore.”
Suriya made his film debut in the 1997 Tamil movie 'O Nerukku Ner', directed by Vasanth and produced by Mani Ratnam, where he played a pivotal role alongside Vijay.
After this debut, he received numerous opportunities and quickly rose to stardom.
Suriya's new movie Kanguva will be released around the world on November 14
. He called it a "new world" and said it's special for Kollywood. Suriya compared it to popular movies like Baahubali and RRR, saying it's the first of its kind for Tamil cinema.
